M usual answer to the I’m hungry statement is want some nuts or carrots. When they are actually hungry they say yes and when they are just looking for something sweet they don’t. At least then I have no guilt for rushing them into bed so I can have my nighttime snack (usually chocolate).

Yes, I think we all have food issues. My little ones cry that they are hungry at bedtime all the time. Sometimes I get them a snack sometimes I don’t. The smart one inside me tells them they can have carrots or nothing, sometimes they take it sometimes they leave it. That is how I know if they are REALLY HUNGRY, or not

This sentence “MOMMY I’M SO HUNGRY THAT IT HURTS DEEP INSIDE MY TUMMY.” would have killed me. I would have been cooking her up a 4 course meal.

Uh…. I hear you. Mallory is the snacker in the family. It does not help that her default statement when she is bored is “I’m hungry.” It is a challenge to figure out what she is letting me know by this statement.

And how, for the love of all things healthy, does one get a child to DRINK? Melissa’s having dehydration headaches nearly every day we don’t force her to chug liquids. Which, of course, you have to time carefully or they will replace actual food. Which, then leads to the bedtime hungries!!!

I’m pretty sure that Daphne lived on yogurt for the first 10 yrs of her life, so anything above and beyond that is gravy (figurative) or frosting (literal).
