That baby is so cute. You and your children are looking quite Halloweeny and your little friend look very happy. We are enjoying the holiday season as well.

O.k. - I'm de-lurking now. I have silently followed the drama of the squash fertility issues and semi-regularly surf over here when I'm procrastinating. Seeing the pureed pumpkin so close to the homemade pizza entry triggered the memory of a pizza idea you might like. I try to leave pizza in the hands of professionals with access to wood-fired (or at least 800 degree gas-fired) ovens. But here's a description (not claiming to be a recipe) of an awesome pizza from Bob Marshall's Biga Pizza, the hottest pizza joint in Missoula, MT (the town with the fewest cowboys per capita in the state, sorry to say). So it's a thinnish-crust pizza topped with olive oil, glops of ricotta, glops of pureed squash/pumpkin, and carmelized leeks - with a little mozzarella sprinkled over, I think. It's a really unexpected use of the pumpkin, but delicious! DIY-ers, thank me or curse me later. I have no idea if this works in a home kitchen.
Also, look on the NYT site for a pumpkin risotto recipe that appeared around Halloween - though that one is a little more obvious.

Eh, pumpkin for be works for me - there's a 5-point harness in there, right? As to the purée, bring it on! Little Miles has already consume his weight (ok, admittedly just 15lbs) in pumpkin purée, pumpkin soup, and a little pumpkin-swirled yogurt!
