Well, netting isn't really a trick, but we double up the netting and that works. I like this trick: paint a bunch of rocks red, then line them up surrounding the patch. This year I am going for quality over quantity and am expecting a huge second harvest. I am not certain about the bug salad you are showing...unless they are coated in chocolate, I don't think I could serve them.
